Daniela has been collaborating with MdME since 2018. Prior to joining the firm, Daniela collaborated with prestigious Portuguese law firms for four years, having gained experience in international and cross border investments in Portugal, Angola and Mozambique. Daniela has also been involved in some major high-profile criminal cases in Portugal, involving complex financial, telecommunications and regulatory issues, which have provided her with extensive know-how and experience in dealing with such matters.
Daniela is a member of the Disputes and Compliance team, focusing on advisory and compliance work, on issues such as data privacy, anti-money laundering, anti-corruption, consumer protection and general compliance with local and international regulations. Daniela has been providing support to clients of different business sectors in designing compliance programs, conducting compliance audits, developing AML/CFT policies and procedures, reviewing systems and controls, advising on several compliance issues, and providing training. Additionally, Daniela also assists clients in the areas of criminal, regulatory and administrative litigation, with a focus on white-collar criminal proceedings and cross-border judiciary cooperation.
