News | 03 November 2022

MdME has been elected as Collective Associate of the Year by the International Association of Young Portuguese-Speaking Lawyers (JALP).
The awards were announced last weekend at the II JALP Anniversary Gala, which took place at the Word of Wine in Porto. In addition to the Collective Associate of the Year award, other personalities who stood out during the current year were also distinguished, with particular emphasis on the Lusophone Personality of 2022 categories, attributed to Dr. Alexis Tam, head of the Macau Economic and Commercial Delegation in Portugal headquartered in Lisbon; and effective associate of the year, Lukeno Ribeiro Alkatiri.

The International Association of Young Portuguese-Speaking Lawyers currently has more than 350 members from Portuguese-speaking countries and jurisdictions, Angola, Brazil, São Tomé and Príncipe, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Macau and Timor, in addition to Portugal. JALP asserts itself as an aggregator pole and an active and uncompromising voice of the concerns and interests of lawyers or trainee lawyers registered in several countries that make up the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP). Based in Portugal, JALP aims to play a relevant role in framing young lawyers in the Portuguese-speaking jurisdictional context and in the linguistic-cultural movement in which it operates.
