João Encarnação shares on Cross-Border IP Trends Shaping Macau and the Greater Bay Area

The Greater Bay Area Legal & Business Exchange in Macau was hosted last week, where João Encarnação, Partner and head of our Intellectual Property practice, had the opportunity to speak, covering Macau.

During the event, João presented practical insight on strategies for safeguarding IP in cross-border business, emerging trends in GBA IP frameworks, and some lessons learnt from foreign-related IP disputes.

He also highlighted the importance of protecting IP in Portuguese-speaking countries as one of the first steps to a successful entry into those markets by GBA entities.

The forum, organised by the International Probono Legal Services Association, brought together legal practitioners, corporate leaders, and government representatives to foster collaboration and address foreign-related legal risks in global operations.

It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with industry leaders and share insight, and we thank the organisers for hosting an impactful event.
